McIlroy took home his first Green Jacket, defeating Justin Rose in a playoff hole with a birdie to finish at 11-under.
The 35-year-old joins Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as just the sixth Grand Slam champion.
"This is my 17th time here, and I started to wonder if it would ever be my time," McIlroy said after the win. "I think the last 10 years coming here with the burden of the Grand Slam on my shoulders and trying to achieve that, yeah, I'm sort of wondering what we're all going to talk about going into next year's Masters."
McIlroy is set to appear in Happy Gilmore 2 alongside last year’s Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and others, as revealed in a teaser dropped by Netflix in February.
The sequel to the classic 1996 film Happy Gilmore is set to debut on Netflix on July 25, with Sandler returning to reprise his role along with Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit and Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin.
