The UFC will induct the 2025 class on Thursday, June 26 at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena as part of UFC International Fight Week.

Nunes had an emotional reaction to learning about her upcoming Hall of Fame induction while in attendance at UFC 314 in Miami.

UFC president and CEO Dana White called Nunes "the greatest female fighter of all time" in a statement announcing her upcoming induction.

“Amanda was a great champion who had one of the most legendary careers in combat sports history. She is an incredible person, and it will be an honor to induct her into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer," White said.

Nunes will be the 15th fighter to join the Modern Wing, which honors fighters who turned pro on or after the modern era began on November 17, 2000.

She will join Robbie Lawler, Mauricio Rua, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Frankie Edgar, Jose Aldo, Donald Cerrone, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier, Georges St-Pierre, Rashad Evans, Michael Bisping, Ronda Rousey, Urijah Faber, BJ Penn and Forrest Griffin in the wing.

Nunes made her professional debut in 2008 and went on to mark a career record of 23-5-0, including a 12-0-0 run between 2015 and 2021.

She ended her pro MMA career in June 2023, when she defended her bantamweight title by beating Irene Aldana via unanimous decision at UFC 289 before announcing her retirement.

Nunes set multiple record for women in the UFC, including the longest winning streak (12), the most title fight wins (11), the most finishes (10) and most knockouts (7) in UFC women's history.

There's still a chance Nunes could increase her leads in those categories. She recently nodded when White was asked at a press conference whether she would ever come out of retirement for a UFC fight.
