The five-time All-Pro was on hand for one of the more odd NBA atmospheres in recent memory as Luka Dončić made his return to Dallas.
Dončić was visibly emotional as he watched the Mavericks' tribute video before the game.
From there, Mavs fans were at various points rooting for the team, cheering for a rival player they still admire, and voicing their frustration with Dallas' ownership and the front office.
Henry may not have been among those going through the conflicting emotions because James is likely the primary reason he obtained a ticket.
The two have displayed their professional admiration for one another in the past.
In December 2020, Henry celebrated a 36-yard touchdown run by hitting LeBron's trademark "Silencer" celebration, which didn't go unnoticed by the NBA All-Star:
James has also called Henry his favorite NFL player, citing the way in which the 6'2", 247-pound back uses his frame in a variety of ways to wreak havoc on opposing defenses:
Dončić stole the show in more ways than one Wednesday. Beyond the drama surrounding his first game in Dallas, he dropped a game-high 45 points.
Much to the delight of Henry, James also put in a strong performance as he finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.
