Browns Trade for Shedeur Sanders after Travis Hunter Pick in McShay's NFL Mock Draft
Rather than have to choose between Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter, NFl draft expert Todd McShay has crafted a scenario in which the Cleveland Browns end up with both players in the 2025 NFL draft.
Breaking down his latest mock draft on The McShay Show (starts at 32:20 mark), McShay has the Browns using the No. 2 pick to add Hunter.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
While that is becoming a fairly common selection in mocks right now, McShay has the Browns trading back into the first round in a deal with the Atlanta Falcons for the No. 15 pick by giving up picks 33, 67 and a 2026 second-rounder (starts at 50:30 mark).
The Browns then use that extra first-round pick this year to take Sanders (starts at 59:20 mark), giving them arguably the best player in this class (Hunter) and a quarterback on a rookie contract they can build around.
Cleveland is doing a great job of sending out smokescreens at the top of the draft. ESPN's Adam Schefter said on the March 26 episode of NFL Live that it was "tracking" for the Browns to make Abdul Carter at No. 2 overall.
On the latest episode of The Adam Schefter Podcast released Monday (h/t Mike Kadlick of SI.com), Hunter is "more likely" to be selected by the Browns with the second pick.
One note from Schefter that might also make Sanders an appealing option for the Browns is they view Hunter "as somebody they can play at wide receiver and I think sprinkle in defensive back."
No one is more familiar with Hunter's ability as a receiver than Sanders after their three seasons together as college teammates dating back to 2022 at Jackson State.
This would presumably help Sanders' adjustment to the NFL by having a pass-catcher on the roster he has an established rapport with.
McShay's trade scenario certainly comes at a high cost to a Browns team that has several roster holes to fill, but they also have 10 picks in the 2025 draft and two in the third round.
Given how significant the need at quarterback is for the Browns right now, they might have to do something aggressive in the draft to find a potential starter for next season and beyond.
