Cam Smith Wears Suit Jacket During Masters Practice, Stirs Buzz in Photos from Augusta

Cam Smith brought a unique look to Augusta National during Wednesday's practice round for the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Smith conspicuously wore a suit jacket while going through his practice routine, which unsurprisingly generated some buzz on social media:

Smith, who represents LIV Golf, will be seeking his second career major title following his 2022 Open Championship victory. Per Evin Priest of Australian Golf Digest, his blazer "had a Ripper GC logo stitched on the front above the breast pocket and LIV Golf on the left sleeve." Smith is the captain of Ripper GC, which won the teams component of LIV Golf Miami on Sunday for its fourth all-time victory in the league.

Smith's best finish in the Masters Tournament was a tie for second place in 2020. He also placed third in 2022 and most recently tied for sixth in 2024. This year is different, however, as he will be competing at Augusta National as a new father. His wife gave birth to his son, Remy, last week.

The 31-year-old told Russell Gould of NewsWire that he was bringing the newborn to Augusta, and he hoped to carry the momentum from the team victory at LIV Golf Miami into the Masters.

"It’s cool he’s the winning formula for the team, obviously, I think. One from one, Remy is. It’s so cool," Smith said. "People express - I’ve got two great dads next to me (Marc Leishman and Matt Jones)- how cool it is to be a father, but you really can’t put it into words. It’s been so awesome."

The 2025 Masters Tournament will commence with the first round on Thursday, and Smith isn't the only competitor who is prioritizing his fashion. It was also revealed on Wednesday that Phil Mickelson will be wearing a pair of custom off-white Air Jordan 1 sneakers when he walks the course at Augusta National.
