NFL GMs, HCs Reportedly Don't See Star Power in 2025 Draft, Expect to Get 3-4 Starters
Multiple general managers and head coaches don't see "a ton of star power" in the 2025 draft, but they do see an opportunity to get three or four solid starters in this class, per comments made to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network.
That would seem to coincide with the latest B/R NFL Scouting Department findings. Only three players received a grade of 9.0 or higher in Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter (9.2), Penn State edge-rusher Abdul Carter (9.1) and Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham (9.1). Prospects receiving 9.0-9.4 grades fell into the "Top-10 Prospect" portion of the scale.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Only three othersโGeorgia safety Malaki Starks (8.9), Michigan cornerback Will Johnson (8.8) and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (8.5)โgot grades between 8.5-8.9 (Immediate Impact Prospect).
Twenty-four players in total got 8.0 or higher, meaning "Year 1 Starter" at minimum. And then a total of 116 players received grades of 7.0 or more, meaning "High-Level Backup / Potential Starter" at the least.
Throughout the process, the draft has seemingly been fronted by two blue-chip prospects in Hunter and Carter, with Miami quarterback Cam Ward as the top signal-caller and now likely choice to go first overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Other star prospects exist as well, with Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham notably standing out as a likely top-five choice and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, one of the best prospects at his position in recent memory, standing out as well.
This draft, on paper, doesn't seem to have a ton of stars. However, (a) we won't know that until they play the games and (b) the draft does seemingly have a ton of depth, leading to Jeremiah's remarks on teams' ability to find starters.
The NFL draft is arriving soon enough, with Day 1 occurring on Thursday, April 24 from Green Bay's Lambeau Field.
