Stefon Diggs to Wear No. 8 Jersey with Patriots After Landing $69M Contract

After joining the New England Patriots this offseason, veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs will have a fresh look.

The Patriots revealed on Tuesday that Diggs will be wearing the No. 8 jersey after signing a three-year, $69 million deal with the team:

Diggs wore No. 14 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills. During his lone season with the Houston Texans in 2024, he wore No. 1, which was his college number at Maryland.

However, the No. 1 jersey was already occupied in New England by second-year wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk. In response to a fan question on Instagram last week, Diggs said he had no intentions of asking Polk to switch numbers.

Diggs is coming off a torn ACL that limited him to eight games last season, so he will surely be motivated to return to his Pro Bowl form as he begins his tenure with the Patriots.
