Bryce Young, Xavier Legette Are 'Different' amid 2025 NFL Offseason, Says Panthers HC
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales told Joseph Person of The Athletic that quarterback Bryce Young and wide receiver Xavier Legette have been "different" during the 2025 offseason.
โXavier Legetteโs different," Canales said. "Heโs in the building. You see him in passing. Bryce is different. He was there last week, came in for a couple of days to say hi. Their eyes are different. Their world view and perspective are different after going through the experiences of a year. Everyoneโs changing."
Legette and Young are heading into their second and third years in the NFL, respectively. They'll be attempting to help the Panthers improve upon a 5-12 finish in 2024, as Carolina is seeking its first season with a winning record since 2017.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap ๐ธ

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Young, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, threw three interceptions in the first two starts of his 2024 campaign before he was benched in favor of veteran Andy Dalton.
The 23-year-old eventually took back over under center because Dalton suffered a thumb injury, and he ended up starting the final 10 games of the year for Carolina. Over that span, Young completed 61.8 percent of his throws for 2,104 yards and 15 touchdowns compared to six interceptions.
He also rushed for 223 yards and five scores.
As for Legette, the South Carolina product hauled in 49 receptions for 497 yards and found the end zone four times during his rookie season in 2024. He appeared in 16 games, which included 13 starts.
As Young and Legette look to take steps forward in 2025, they're reportedly approaching the offseason with a different mindset.
