Giants Reportedly 'Love' Cam Ward, Titans 'Won't Pass' on QB amid NFL Draft Rumors
The New York Giants are reportedly fond of Miami quarterback Cam Ward, but it doesn't seem like they will be able to do anything about that from the No. 3 position in the 2025 NFL draft.
"I've heard since bowl season from folks inside the Miami program that the New York Giants love Ward," Bruce Feldman of The Athletic wrote.
However, Feldman also noted the Tennessee Titans "have a big need too and won't pass on the 2024 ACC player of the year."
Tennessee has the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, so it doesn't have to worry about any other team if it decides Ward is the player it wants. And Will Levis is far from a surefire answer as the long-term franchise quarterback, so using that top pick on a signal-caller would make sense.
That is exactly what B/R's NFL Scouting Department projected would happen in its most recent mock draft with Ward going No. 1 overall to the Titans.
New York's love for Ward may not carry over to all the quarterbacks in this class, though, as the same mock draft predicted the Giants to take Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter instead of Shedeur Sanders at No. 3.
The Giants added Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this year, so there isn't as much immediate urgency to add a quarterback. Rather, it could go with the veterans for the time being and perhaps look to draft a different signal-caller in 2026 or future seasons depending on how things unfold.
As for Ward, he will be expected to be the franchise quarterback the Titans have long been looking for if he is the No. 1 overall pick.
He enjoyed plenty of success in college and even set the NCAA Division I record with 158 career touchdown passes. That type of production would surely be welcome in Tennessee as the AFC South team attempts to snap a three-year postseason drought.
