Ashton Jeanty, Luther Burden III to Raiders in Field Yates' 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Julia StumbaughApr 2, 2025

The Las Vegas Raiders are projected to improve both the pass and run options around Geno Smith in the latest 2025 NFL mock draft by ESPN's Field Yates.

Yates predicts the Raiders will use the No. 6 pick to add Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty before trading up with the Kansas City Chiefs to select Missouri wideout Luther Burden III at No. 31.

Las Vegas currently holds nine draft picks, including the No. 6, No. 37 and No. 68 picks in the first three rounds.

The Raiders ranked last in the NFL with 79.8 rushing yards per game last season, a flaw the franchise already addressed by signing Raheem Mostert to a one-year deal in March.

Las Vegas is hoping Mostert can bounce back after his production for the Miami Dolphins dipped in 2024. A prospect like Jeanty, who is graded as a Year 1 starter by B/R NFL scout Dame Parson, could add some insurance alongside Mostert.

The Raiders also need to address the wide receiver position after leaning heavily on Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers as the team's top two targets last season.

Having Bowers, who ranked fourth in the NFL in yards after the catch last season, alongside another YAC threat in Burden could help the Raiders offer Smith more options for his first season in Las Vegas.

Raiders general manager John Spytek told reporters earlier this week he expects his team to finalize an extension for Smith "fairly soon," per ESPN's Ryan McFadden. The Raiders could hope to entice Smith to stick around in Las Vegas by working to build a strong offense ahead of Chip Kelly's first season as the team's offensive coordinator.

The 2025 NFL draft is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay.
