NFL's 2025 Schedule to Feature 3 Christmas Day Game Broadcasts on Netflix, Amazon

Doric SamApr 1, 2025

The NFL is reportedly continuing to forge ahead with its Christmas Day slate of games during the 2025 season.

According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the NFL will have another triple-header on Christmas Day, which falls on a Thursday this year. The first two games will be streamed on Netflix, and the third will be available on Amazon, which owns the rights to the league's Thursday Night Football package.

The return to the three-game slate on Christmas Day comes after the NFL scheduled two games this past season when the holiday fell on a Wednesday. Florio noted that those games were still scheduled despite the fact that "the NFL repeatedly said it will skip Christmas in the years that December 25 falls on Tuesday or Wednesday."

The NFL won't have to worry about Christmas being on a Tuesday or Wednesday again until 2029 and 2030. Florio reported that "the league undoubtedly will go with three games" when the holiday is on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

This past season, both Christmas Day games were streamed on Netflix, with the Baltimore Ravens defeating the Houston Texans 31-2 and the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10. The NFL announced afterward that the games averaged over 30 million viewers globally and 26.5 million viewers in the United States. Despite the blowouts, the viewership greatly surpassed the NBA's Christmas Day slate:

That type of success is understandably hard to give up, so the NFL won't be leaving Christmas Day to the NBA anytime soon. Fans will be excited to see which teams are chosen for the holiday schedule this year.
