Cowboys' Stephen Jones Feels 'Good' About Micah Parsons Contract Extension Talks
The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons have yet to agree to a contract extension, but Stephen Jones said the team feels confident about where they stand with the star pass-rusher.
"I don't want to get into any details," Jones said Sunday, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "It's not fair for anybody, other than we've got a great working relationship with Micah and think the world of him. Like I've said, we've had good visits with him and feel good about where we're headed."
Parsons is currently set to play the 2025 season on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal and will earn a base salary of $24 million.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Other stars who were gearing up for contract years have gotten paid this offseason, including some of the league's best pass rushers.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed pass-rusher Maxx Crosby to a three-year, $106.5 million extension that includes $91.5 million guaranteed. The deal, at the time, made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
After weeks of trade speculation, the Cleveland Browns signed Myles Garrett to an extension that includes $123.5 million in guaranteed money and made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history for a brief period.
Other stars like Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins got lucrative deals this offseason.
Considering what Parsons has done already in his career, it wouldn't be surprising for him to end up with the biggest contract of any of the players mentioned. Parsons, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, has recorded 10 or more sacks every year since he was drafted. He racked up 12 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2024 despite playing just 13 games.
The Cowboys had an expensive offseason a year ago, shelling out a four-year, $240 million deal to quarterback Dak Prescott and a four-year, $136 million extension to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Dallas will be in for another expensive summer if it extends Parsons, but it will be a worthwhile investment.
