Abdul Carter's Foot Injury Reportedly Not 'Issue' in Teams' 2025 NFL Draft Evaluations
Abdul Carter's value does not appear to be impacted by his foot injury.
During Friday's episode of the Scoop City Podcast, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that while teams had questions about Carter's foot injury after it initially surfaced at the combine, it is not impacting his standing as one of the draft's top prospects.

“And I think there were a lot of questions when that first came out," Russini said. "I'm not getting any sense around the league that that is an issue in terms of his evaluation.”
Carter is rated as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 NFL draft by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He had an excellent 2024 season for Penn State, registering 68 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. He was named an All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts.
He did not test at the NFL combine and will not work out at Penn State's pro day on Friday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Carter may work out for teams in mid-April.
The foot injury was diagnosed as a stress fracture at the NFL combine and while that could impact his offseason training, it doesn't look like it will be a true red flag that will affect his availability come September.
"I found out when they found out about it," he told reporters on Friday. "I never had no symptoms, no pain. Doesn't bother me now. It didn't bother me during the season. So whatever they feel necessary for it, I don't feel any pain right now. No surgery or nothing like that."
The draft is set for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
