Report: Cam Ward Works Out for Browns, Meets with GM, HC amid 2025 NFL Draft Rumors
Quarterback Cam Ward reportedly took part in a private workout for the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.
According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, the workout was held at the University of Miami, and Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, general manager Andrew Berry and owner Jimmy Haslam were all in attendance.
Ward is widely regarded as the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft, and the Browns own the No. 2 overall pick.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Cleveland acquired quarterback Deshaun Watson in a trade with the Houston Texans in 2022 and promptly signed him to a five-year, fully-guaranteed, $230 million contract.
The move has not paid dividends, as Watson has been oft-injured and fairly ineffective even when healthy. His 2024 season was cut short due to a torn Achilles, and he could be in danger of missing much or all of the 2025 campaign after tearing his Achilles again in January.
Kenny Pickett is the only other quarterback on the Browns roster, which suggests Cleveland may have designs on addressing that position early in the 2025 draft.
The Titans own the No. 1 overall pick, and they too have a need at quarterback since Will Levis is the only viable option they have currently.
ESPN's Adam Schefter (h/t ESPN's Turron Davenport) reported Tuesday that the Titans have grown "increasingly impressed" with Ward after being present for his pro day, and they plan to hold a private workout and throwing session.
Ward, 22, had a nomadic collegiate career that saw him start at FCS Incarnate Word before transferring to Washington State and then Miami.
His best season came as a senior with the Hurricanes, as he went 10-3 as a starter and completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while also rushing for 204 yards and four scores.
Ward finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting and won the Davey O'Brien Award as the top quarterback in the country.
During an appearance Sunday on SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said those he has spoken to believe Ward has "separated himself" from the other quarterbacks in the 2025 draft.
If the Titans take Ward first overall, the Browns would have to decide between taking a different quarterback or the top player at a different position.
Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter and Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter would likely be the best available players in that scenario, while Colorado's Shedeur Sanders would be the top option at quarterback.
Sanders looks like a surefire first-round pick as well, but it is fair to wonder if taking him second overall would be a worthwhile risk.
Whatever the case, Ward's stock appears to be through the roof, and it is difficult to envision him falling past the Browns at No. 2 if the Titans don't take him at No. 1.
