Video: Michael Johnson Calls Out Tyreek Hill for Saying He Can Beat Noah Lyles in Race
Legendary track-and-field star Michael Johnson has no time for Tyreek Hill's insistence that he could beat Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles in a race.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show (starts at 2:20 mark), Johnson said Hill "can't beat" the 20th or 30th-ranked 100-meter runners in the world, let alone Lyles in a race.

Johnson, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, also pointed that the best track stars in the world can't go into the NFL and do what Hill does as a wide receiver.
Lyles drew the ire of many in the sports world when he questioned why the winners of the NBA Finals and Super Bowl refer to themselves as world champions.
Hill and Lyles began trading barbs on social media after the Olympics when Lyles won gold in the men's 100 meters, leading to Hill challenging him to sign a contract for a 50-yard race.
Lyles took the trash talk to another level by pulling out a sign that read "Tyreek could never" after winning his fourth straight 60-meter title at the Indoor Grand Prix in February.
The race is apparently going to happen at some point this summer. Hill and Lyles told Natasha Dye of People they're going to square off in a 60-meter sprint. The date and location are to be determined, but Lye noted it will happen before the U.S. Championships in July.
Hill did win the 60 meters at the 2023 USA Track and Field Masters Indoor Championships with a time of 6.70 seconds.
However, NBC Sports' Olympic Talk noted Hill's winning time ranked outside the top 200 overall times in the 60 meters for men's runners in 2023.
For comparison, Lyles ran the 60 in 6.52 seconds at the Indoor Grand Prix. He won his first Olympic gold last summer in the 100 meters, finishing with a personal-best time of 9.79 seconds.
