Cam Ward Calls Out Cowboys While Discussing How to Beat NFL Defenses Ahead of Draft

Miami quarterback Cam Ward hasn't entered the NFL yet, but he already may have started a rivalry.

Following his pro day on Monday, Ward was asked if there's anything that makes him nervous about his transition to the professional level, and he confidently told CBS Sports, "I haven't really thought about it. I'd say I have to get into it first, actually being a quarterback. But on film, it looks the same as college."

Ward then dove into the technicalities of NFL defenses and, perhaps inadvertently, took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys for their passing coverage.

"Some teams in the NFL did a lot of two-high stuff, like Dallas, called a lot of Tampa, a lot of cover-two. They leave way too much space on the sideline down the seams," Ward said.

Ward is the No. 1 quarterback in the B/R NFL Scouting Department's draft big board, and he's projected to be the No. 1 pick by the Tennessee Titans in a recent mock draft. Wherever he lands, it's clear that the team that selects him will be getting a player with supreme confidence.

"I just think the arm strength and the confidence that I'm bringing, along with me getting my receivers better, I just think I'll be able to put the ball where I want," Ward boldly declared.
