Texas' Quinn Ewers Scheduled to Visit Cowboys Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Texas' Quinn Ewers might be staying close to home as he has scheduled a visit with the Dallas Cowboys on April 2nd, just as teams begin to make their way to Austin for the team's pro day on Tuesday, per Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins.

Ewers finished his senior season with the Texas Longhorns with 3,472 yards and 31 touchdowns.

The Cowboys hold the No. 12 pick in the NFL Draft.

Heading into his 10th season with the Cowboys, Dak Prescott is recovering from a torn right hamstring he suffered in a Nov. 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons, which required season-ending surgery. He is expected to return sometime in November.

The Cowboys only backup signed is Will Grier who has not seen any NFL playing time since 2019 with the Carolina Panthers where he played in two games.

Needing help at the quarterback position, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones first hinted at possibly drawing one at the 2025 NFL Combine.

“You know, I think one of our goals is to get a young quarterback in the draft,” Jones said, per The Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know where that’s going to be... That’s why we gave a (fourth-round pick) for Trey. It seems like all the quarterbacks, even guys we have in the fourth round, go in the first. They always go so much higher than what you think.”

Ewers could be the addition the Cowboys are looking for after he led the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff Semifinals.

In the latest 2025 NFL Draft Big Board, Bleacher Report NFL scout Dame Parson compared him to former Dallas quarterback Andy Dalton, stating he has, "flashes the potential to be a high-end quarterback but lacks consistency." Ewers is ranked as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 100 overall prospect in the upcoming draft, per B/R.
