Abdul Carter: 'Best Player' Should Go No. 1 in NFL Draft; 'No QB' Is in the Discussion
Penn State edge rusher and highly-touted NFL draft prospect Abdul Carter once again made it clear that he believes he should be the No. 1 pick next month.
Carter tweeted that the No. 1 pick should be the best overall player in the draft, and "no QB is in that discussion."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Carter closing his tweet with "Generational, remember" is a direct message to the Tennessee Titans, as president of football operations Chad Brinker told reporters in January, "We won't pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft."
This is far from the first time that Carter has let it be known that he feels he's deserving of being the No. 1 pick. He's been counting down to the first round of the NFL draft on April 24 for months:
Despite his confidence, Carter could have to wait to hear his name called on draft day. Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, DraftKings Sportsbook lists Miami quarterback Cam Ward as a -700 favorite to be selected No. 1 overall, while Carter is a -125 favorite to be the No. 2 pick, which is currently owned by the Cleveland Browns.
B/R's NFL Scouting Department listed Carter as the No. 2 overall player in its draft big board behind Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter and predicted that he would be selected fourth overall by the New England Patriots in a recent mock draft.
Carter was discovered to have a stress reaction in his foot during testing at the NFL Scouting Combine, but it's unclear if that will affect his draft stock. The 2024 unanimous All-American is believed to be a future star in the NFL, and it's clear that he has the confidence to back up those projections. It can be expected that he will continue campaigning to be the No. 1 pick over the next month.
