Buy or Sell Latest Alexa Bliss WWE Rumors, Mercedes Moné's Next AEW Feud, More
The pro wrestling world has a short lull before WrestleMania 41 in Nevada on April 19.
But nobody told the rumor mill.
While the actual on-screen products take the time to craft compelling tales for the sport’s biggest show of the year, the rumor mill itself hasn’t slowed at all. So it goes at a time some plans remain in flux and details like possible returns, outcomes, and future plans remain points of speculation.
Just this week, the rumblings include things like locations for major events, Hall of Fame plans and the fates of Superstars who might not even make ‘Mania itself.
To help fans keep pace during these busy times, here’s a look at the most notable current buzz from the mill and whether fans should buy or sell on each.
AEW's Big Match Plans
1 of 4
The Rumor
AEW might have a huge women’s match in the works. According to Fightful Select, Mercedes Moné vs. Athena is possibly in the plans, perhaps for an event as big as AEW Dynasty on April 6.
Reaction
Talk about a fun possibility. Moné is zooming toward a year as TBS Champion while Athena is the longest-reigning ROH Women's World Champion, so a champion vs. champion match at such a high-profile event feels like a layup for the promotion.
Buy or Sell?
Buy. There aren’t a ton of matches set in stone for Dynasty right now. The two Superstars have been trading barbs on social media, too. Fans haven’t really seen these two link up in singles competition, so now feels like the perfect time.
PLE Location Buzz
2 of 4
The Rumor
WWE has yet to unveil locations for major 2025 events. Of note is Money in the Bank, which will reportedly be held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, according to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman).
Reaction
WWE staying on the West Coast after having ‘Mania in Las Vegas would make a lot of sense, just for the sake of consistency. It helps that the home of the Los Angeles Clippers is brand new, enabling WWE to utilize the cutting-edge design and fan environment to promote one of the biggest shows of the year.
Buy or Sell?
Buy. It was a matter of time before WWE went there. A year ago, WWE went big internationally with Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and used the briefcases to roll out lengthy stories for names like CM Punk, Drew McIntyre and Tiffany Stratton, so it’s safe to expect something similar.
WWE vs. AEW Again?
3 of 4
The Rumor
Onlookers have noticed that WWE and AEW are going international at the same time soon. According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer (h/t Ortman), this is “not a coincidence” on WWE’s end.
Reaction
The implication here is that WWE’s just-announced August UK Tour happens to occur around AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view scheduled for August 24 in London.
Buy or Sell?
Huge sell. These things are going to happen. WWE has been pouring millions into expanding WWE globally since Nick Khan’s involvement and one can presume the plans for something like this didn’t just come together quickly. It also happens around a weekend holiday in the UK. If WWE were chasing AEW around the United States, perhaps there would be some fire here.
Alex Bliss Pulled?
4 of 4
The Rumor
Alexa Bliss’ WrestleMania 41 fate is suddenly up for debate. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (h/t Ortman), Bliss was potentially planned for a tag team feud and match but has since been pulled from events. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Saptarshi Sinha of Ewrestling News), Bliss could be off television until The Wyatt Sicks return.
Reaction
Bummer. Bliss waiting for Wyatt Sicks stuff makes plenty of sense. But that would also mean she might not have a spot at ‘Mania at all. She’s been rarely seen since her surprise return at the Royal Rumble as is.
Buy or Sell?
Unfortunate buy. The women’s divisional outlook ahead of ‘Mania has followed a strange path. A huge name like Becky Lynch hasn’t had a presence either, so it’s not surprising someone like Bliss remains in a bit of limbo for the time being, too.
