1 Sentence of Post-Free Agency Advice for Each NFL Team Ahead of 2025 Draft
Even NFL pros need sound advice to preserve their jobs. We know this because teams fire general managers and coaches every year.
So, as free agency winds down and the draft comes into direct focus, we'll provide leaguewide guidance, giving every team a strong piece of advice in one sentence.
All the thoughts highlight potential trade options, free agents who can still be key contributors and standout draft prospects capable of making an immediate impact.
Let's start with the AFC East and work through each division.
AFC East
1 of 8
Buffalo Bills: Draft a speedy deep threat like Jalen Royals and watch Josh Allen go from a dynamic MVP quarterback to a record-breaking passer in an electric offense.
Miami Dolphins: You saw Zach Wilson struggle with the New York Jets for three seasons, so keep a developmental quarterback on your radar for Day 2 of the draft.
New England Patriots: Trade back into the first round for Emeka Egbuka, because Stefon Diggs is 31 years old and may need time to bounce back into full strength from a torn ACL.
New York Jets: Justin Fields and the ground game need all 6'3", 325 pounds of screaming Armand Membou.
AFC North
2 of 8
Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry has one more year left on his deal, so make sure to draft a rookie running back early in a strong class.
Cincinnati Bengals: Find a way to retain Trey Hendrickson and then draft the best available defensive player with the No. 17 pick.
Cleveland Browns: Deal with Deion Sanders talking smack about how bad the team is, because his son, Shedeur, can help you out of quarterback purgatory.
Pittsburgh Steelers: If begging Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind doesn't work, sign Carson Wentz.
AFC South
3 of 8
Houston Texans: Draft Ohio State product Josh Simmons now, so when you're ready to move on from Cam Robinson next year, he can slide into the starting left tackle spot.
Indianapolis Colts: In a battle between inefficient quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones, you need a big target at tight end such as Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Draft Will Campbell because he will solve your issues on the interior of the offensive line or be an upgrade over Walker Little at left tackle.
Tennessee Titans: Write Cam Ward's name on an index card in pen and choreograph your war-room draft-day celebration in the same way players do for touchdown dances.
AFC West
4 of 8
Denver Broncos: Draft Omarion Hampton so Bo Nix doesn't have to run as much to supplement a subpar ground game.
Kansas City Chiefs: As long as Josh Conerly Jr. isn't going one-on-one against Mike Green at practice, you should be comfortable selecting him to be your long-term starting left tackle.
Las Vegas Raiders: You're understandably unimpressed with this year's free-agent class, but don't miss out on adding Keenan Allen, Elijah Moore or Tyler Lockett to round out your receiver room.
Los Angeles Chargers: Draft explosive running back TreVeyon Henderson because Najee Harris will only get you a hard-fought four yards per carry and minimal gains in the short passing game.
NFC East

Dallas Cowboys: Draft a running back within the first two rounds to help Dak Prescott, who's become more prone to injury as he ages into his 30s.
New York Giants: Draft Travis Hunter so Russell Wilson can throw several moon balls to him to for big plays on offense.
Philadelphia Eagles: Take a wide receiver in the first round of the draft to replace Jahan Dotson so Jalen Hurts can quiet his haters again with 4,000-plus yards passing next season.
Washington Commanders: You cannot acquire Myles Garrett right now, but you should push to swing a deal for Cincinnati Bengals edge-rusher Trey Hendrickson.
NFC North

Chicago Bears: Go against the grain with a trade-up for running back Ashton Jeanty to make a triumphant return to physical Bears football.
Detroit Lions: Find some way to draft edge-rusher Mike Green after releasing Za'Darius Smith.
Green Bay Packers: Your No. 1 wide receiver isn't on the roster or in this year's draft, so you better trade for Tyreek Hill while he's still pretending to be happy in Miami.
Minnesota Vikings: Fill all of your voids in the secondary with one versatile defensive back prospect: Jahdae Barron.
NFC South
7 of 8
Atlanta Falcons: After struggling to rush the passer last year, lock in on hometown Georgia products Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams.
Carolina Panthers: In Bryce Young's crucial third season, you want Tetairoa McMillan to be his Mike Evans.
New Orleans Saints: Lock in on Michigan product Will Johnson, who's the perfect addition for the secondary after trading Marshon Lattimore and losing Paulson Adebo in free agency over the last five months.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Lavonte David cannot play forever (right?), so add Jihaad Campbell to the linebacker succession plan.
NFC West
8 of 8
Arizona Cardinals: Don't pass up on the ball-hawking safeties in this draft class after Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson combined for zero interceptions last year.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford is 37, so devise a plan to steal Jaxson Dart from quarterback-needy teams.
San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Shanahan won't admit this publicly, but Kaleb Johnson is the dream pick that the team needs to make happen on Day 2 of the draft.
Seattle Seahawks: Draft Matthew Golden because he will mitigate the disappointment of overpaying for Cooper Kupp's homecoming.
