POSITIVES

— Has good speed to turn and run when playing bail technique or side-saddle with long speed to carry deep routes.

— Solid at sinking his hips and driving on curl routes in off coverage.

— Impressive awareness in zone coverage with good eye discipline to pick up switches and pattern match.

— Good ball production with 17 passes defended in two seasons, locates the ball well and has the hand-eye coordination to get pass breakups.

— Willing run defender and tackler who uses good pad level.

NEGATIVES

— Lean frame, could afford to add some size and strength.

— Shows some hip stiffness that impacts his change-of-direction skills in man coverage and can lead to him getting beat deep when playing press.

— Allows wide receivers to attack his blind spots, needs to play with better leverage.

— Can struggle to get off blocks from wide receivers in the running game.

NOTES

— Not ranked in the 2022 JUCO class, per 247Sports

— Played at FCS Indiana State in 2022 before transferring to Western Michigan in 2023

— Injuries: 2022 (Undisclosed, season-ending missed 3 games)

OVERALL

Bilhal Kone is a zone corner who has the speed to cover deep routes when playing off coverage and is solid at driving on routes. He also shows impressive awareness to execute pattern matches and recognize opportunities to come off his man and help teammates in coverage.

Additionally, Kone had good ball production during his two years at Western Michigan and is a willing run defender and tackler. He'd be a good fit as either a Cover 2 or 3 boundary corner as a later-round prospect who can also add value as a special teams player.

GRADE: 6.0 (Developmental Prospect — 5th Round)

OVERALL RANK: 223

POSITION RANK: CB26
