NFL Rumors: Kirk Cousins, Will Levis Drawing 'Preliminary' Trade Interest Before Draft

Andrew PetersMar 18, 2025

A pair of quarterbacks are reportedly drawing some trade interest head of the NFL draft next month.

Per NFL insider Josina Anderson, Atlanta Falcons' Kirk Cousins and Tennessee Titans' Will Levis have "came up in recent preliminary trade inquiries or internal discussions."

Anderson added that one source said “Atlanta has been getting calls" while another noted “the Titans would like to transition" from Levis.

The Falcons opted not to release Cousins before the deadline for payment of his roster bonus on Saturday, meaning the veteran earned the $10 million bonus and Atlanta presumably committed to keeping him around until it can at least find a trade for him.

Cousins, who had 3,508 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 14 games last year, would likely be the Falcons backup behind Michael Penix Jr. if he stays on the roster.

Though Cousins had a rough year in 2024, he's likely still capable of starting on a handful of teams, and a trade could be the best option for both he and the Falcons this offseason. It might be difficult for Atlanta to find a trade suitor willing to take on the remaining three years of Cousins' four-year, $180 million, so the return for Cousins could be less than ideal.

Still, it's a good sign for the Falcons that he's already generating some trade interest before the draft.

Levis, a second-round pick for the Titans in 2023, hasn't worked out under center. He had a decent start as a rookie with 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games, but he struggled tremendously last season, throwing for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 12 games.

The good news for the Titans is Levis is still on his rookie contract, so even if they can't find a trade, they won't have to pay too much for him to potentially sit on the bench for most of the year.
