Report: Mecole Hardman, Packers Agree to Contract in Free Agency After Chiefs Stint
Mecole Hardman is moving on from the Kansas City Chiefs following his second stint with the team.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the free-agent wide receiver is joining the Green Bay Packers on a one-year deal.
Hardman, a second-round pick in 2019, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Chiefs before joining the New York Jets in free agency ahead of the 2023 season. His time in New York was brief as he played just five games with the Jets before being traded back to Kansas City.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In his six games with the Chiefs in 2023, he recorded 118 receiving yards. In Kansas City's Super Bowl matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, Hardman had three catches for 57 yards and the game-winning touchdown in overtime.
Hardman explored free agency before the 2024 season, but ultimately returned to Kansas City on a one-year deal. He had the least productive season of his career, pulling in just 12 catches for 90 yards in 12 games, missing five games due to a knee injury.
Hardman's best seasons came early in his career as he recorded 500 or more yards in his first three seasons. He hasn't had the same success as a receiver in recent years, but he remains a reliable returner and should be a boost to Green Bay in 2025.
He also knows what it means to be on a championship roster, winning three with the Chiefs, and he'll look to bring some of that experience with him to Green Bay.
