Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer, Release Date Drops with Adam Sandler, Bad Bunny and More

The highly anticipated sequel to Adam Sandler's classic comedy Happy Gilmore now has an official release date.

Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 on Tuesday and confirmed a previous report that the movie will be available on the streaming service beginning on July 25.

The newest trailer featured Sandler and several other actors from the first movie reprising their roles, as well as an appearance by global music superstar Bad Bunny.

Along with Sandler as Gilmore, the trailer showed Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit and Ben Stiller as Hal.

Several recognizable, real-life golfers were also part of the trailer, including Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and John Daly.

Other figures from the sports world confirmed or rumored for appearances in Happy Gilmore 2 include Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, former NFL running back Reggie Bush, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch and All Elite Wrestling star MJF.

The original Happy Gilmore starred Sandler as a hockey player who found out he had a knack for golf thanks to his powerful drive.

While initially reluctant to make the move from hockey to golf, Gilmore decided to do so in order to make enough money to save his grandmother's house.

Gilmore became McGavin's archrival along the way, and they did battle in the Tour Championship for the gold jacket, which was a clear spoof of the green jacket given to the winner of the Masters in real life.

Gilmore ultimately won and saved his grandma's home, while McGavin got attacked by an angry group of fans after trying to steal the gold jacket.

The plot of Happy Gilmore 2 isn't yet clear, but it appears as though something draws Gilmore out of retirement.

With a star-studded cast and a loyal fanbase long clamoring for a sequel, Happy Gilmore 2 figures to be a major boon for Netflix when it officially drops in July.
