Report: Tetairoa McMillan Runs 4.48-Second 40-Yard Dash in Workout for NFL Teams
One of the most exciting wide receiver prospects in this year's draft class showed off his speed on Monday.
Per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash in front of scouts at a private workout. McMillan, who did not run the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, stands at 6'4", 219 pounds.
McMillan had an outstanding three years at Arizona. After a 702-yard, eight touchdowns season as a freshman, he notched 1,402 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023. In his final season in 2024, McMillan collected 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
His yardage totals last season were the third-most in all of college football and the most among receivers in the Big 12.
Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department considers McMillan to be the No. 6 overall player and the top receiver in this year's draft class. In their latest mock draft, Bleacher Report's Scouting Department projected McMillan to go to the Carolina Panthers, who have the No. 8 overall pick.
Of all the teams in the top 10, the Panthers might make the most sense for McMillan. Bryce Young has a pair of decent targets in Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette but still needs a true WR1 option. McMillan could be just that.
McMillan's 40-yard dash time isn't quite as fast as some of the times we saw at the NFL combine, but considering his size, he has all the makings of an NFL receiver.
The Big 12 is set to have its Pro Days from March 18 to 21, where McMillan will look to continue wowing NFL scouts following his private workout on Monday.
