Fantasy Football 2025: Updated Rankings After Early Free-Agency Signings
The initial wave of moves across the NFL in the last week did not affect the top of the 2025 fantasy football rankings.
The majority of the free-agent signings and trades shook up the middle of the overall rankings and the tables at specific positions.
Some of the positional rankings could change in the coming weeks before the draft, specifically in the case of DK Metcalf.
Metcalf and George Pickens are unsure of which quarterback will be throwing to them in 2025.
Perhaps the most impactful signing to fantasy rankings is Najee Harris' deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. Harris is the starting running back for now, which is something you can't say about Rico Dowdle and others that swapped teams.

Davante Adams Added to Rams Passing Offense
2 of 4
The Rams upgraded their passing attack with Davante Adams.
Adams will be a huge upgrade over Cooper Kupp, who did not have a huge impact as the WR2 last season.
Matthew Stafford is the biggest fantasy beneficiary from the Adams signing because now he gets to throw to Adams and Puka Nacua.
Nacua is expected to be the No. 1 wide out on the depth chart, but there's a chance that Adams cuts into his production a bit.
Adams just produced his fifth straight 1,000-yard receiving season. Nacua's production dipped in his sophomore season by 500 yards due to injuries.
A fully healthy duo of Adams and Nacua has the potential to produce two 1,000-yard campaigns, which in turn, would benefit all of Stafford's passing statistics.
Stafford might not be a top-five, or top-10, fantasy quarterback to begin the season, but he can get to that point with two pass-catchers who have the potential to finish inside the top 10 of the wide receiver fantasy rankings.
DK Metcalf, George Pickens Duo Have TBD Fantasy Statuses
3 of 4
DK Metcalf's arrival through trade from Seattle to Pittsburgh gives the Steelers two top-tier wide receivers.
However, the Steelers are uncertain as to who will be their quarterback in 2025. They missed out on the initial wave of quarterback moves as Geno Smith went to Las Vegas, Sam Darnold moved to Seattle and Justin Fields left for the New York Jets.
Pittsburgh could land Aaron Rodgers, bring back Russell Wilson or somehow land a rookie in the 2025 NFL draft, but whoever it does land, has a strong pair of wide outs to work with.
Metcalf and Pickens are talented on their own, but their statistics can be elevated if they are connected with one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
As of now, Metcalf and Pickens should be top-25, or top-30, fantasy wide receivers, but their rankings will fluctuate in the coming weeks depending on who plays quarterback.
Najee Harris Is New Leader of Chargers Backfield
4 of 4
Najee Harris' move to the Los Angeles Chargers should benefit both parties.
Harris is the clear No. 1 running back on the depth chart and does not have to worry about splitting snaps with Jaylen Warren.
The Chargers now have a reliable back who can get them 1,000 yards. The JK Dobbins-Gus Edwards experiment did not work because of injuries.
Harris comes to the AFC West with four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. The minimum expectation in Los Angeles is to extend that run to five years.
Harris' fantasy value should increase with a defined role. He will not be in the elite tier, headlined by Saquon Barkley, but he could be a strong RB2 to support Barkley, Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs.
