Adin Hill, Golden Knights Agree to Reported $6.25M AAV Contract After 4 Nations Win

Mike ChiariMar 14, 2025

The Vegas Golden Knights announced Friday that they signed starting goalie Adin Hill to a six-year contract extension.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the six-year deal will pay Hill an average of $6.25 million annually.

Hill, 28, helped lead the Golden Knights to their first Stanley Cup title in 2023, and he backed up St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington last month as a member of Canada's 4 Nations Face-Off championship team.

Originally a third-round draft pick of the Arizona Coyotes in 2015, Hill spent four seasons in Arizona and one with the San Jose Sharks before the Golden Knights acquired him in a trade in 2022.

Hill somewhat unexpectedly became the goaltending answer Vegas was looking for following the departure of Marc-Andre Fleury.

Over the course of his three seasons with the Golden Knights, Hill has appeared in 101 games, starting 99 of them. He has also posted a 99-59-30 record with a 2.57 goals-against average, .910 save percentage and six shutouts.

So far this season, Hill is 24-11-4 with a 2.53 GAA, .906 save percentage and a career-high four shutouts as the Golden Knights' primary goalie.

Hill has been a big part of the Golden Knights' success, as they are in first place in the Pacific Division and have the third-best record in the Western Conference overall with 85 points.

With the playoffs quickly approaching, Hill is preparing for what may be his favorite time of the year if his career postseason stats are any indication.

Over the course of the past two seasons, Hill has played in 19 playoff games, starting 17 of them, and has posted a 12-6 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and .932 save percentage to go along with three shutouts.

When taking only active players into account, Hill's reported average annual value of $6.25 million would rank as the seventh-highest among goalies this season.

If Hill manages to lead the Golden Knights to another Stanley Cup this season, his new contract could quickly look like a bargain.
