NFL Rumors: Kyle Juszczyk to Meet With Steelers in Free Agency After 49ers Release
The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to host fullback Kyle Juszczyk on a free-agent visit Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
On Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers announced they had released Juszczyk, who spent eight of his 12 NFL seasons in San Francisco.
Juszczyk was named to the Pro Bowl in his final season as a member of the Baltimore Ravens and in each of his eight seasons with the Niners. He was also a First Team All-Pro in 2023 and a Second Team All-Pro last season.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Juszczyk entered the league as a fourth-round pick of the Ravens in 2013 after starring collegiately at Harvard.
He quickly established himself as a versatile weapon who could contribute as a pass-catcher, runner and blocker, which is something that continued when he signed with the 49ers in 2017.
Overall, Juszczyk has recorded 281 receptions for 2,664 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also rushing for 237 yards and six touchdowns on 67 carries over 189 career regular-season games.
Additionally, he has appeared in 14 playoff games, registering 16 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown.
While Juszczyk has yet to win a championship, he played in two Super Bowls as a member of the 49ers, and his diverse skill set was hugely important in the offense of Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan.
The Steelers have not had a traditional fullback in quite some time, but they have utilized tight end Connor Heyward in an H-back role that has seen him line up at tight end and in the backfield.
Juszczyk, who will turn 34 on April 23, would give Pittsburgh a player with far more experience at fullback, although he is capable of lining up in multiple different spots as well.
Coming off an early playoff exit last season, the Steelers have had a busy offseason already, acquiring wide receiver DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks and signing cornerback Darius Slay and running back Kenneth Gainwell, among others.
The biggest question mark relates to who will start at quarterback in 2025, as Justin Fields left for the New York Jets in free agency and Russell Wilson remains a free agent.
NFL Network'sย Mike Garafolo reported Thursday that the Steelers agreed to a two-year contract with Mason Rudolph in free agency, but he will likely serve as the backup quarterback.
Re-signing Wilson could potentially be an option, and Gerry Dulacย of theย Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Pittsburgh has made an offer to free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Regardless of who the quarterback ends up being, Juszczyk would add another weapon and a different dimension to the Pittsburgh offense.
