Report: Cowboys Trade for Titans' Kenneth Murray Jr.; NFL Draft Picks Involved
The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly adding some defensive talent in return for 2025 draft picks.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys are trading for Tennessee Titans linebacker Kennth Murray Jr. According to ESPN's Todd Archer, the Cowboys will send a seventh-round pick in the deal, with the Titans getting a sixth-round pick in return.
Murray was the Titans' leading tackler a year ago, picking up 95 tackles on the season. He also had the fourth-most sacks with 3.5 and racked up eight tackles for loss plus an interception.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Murray, a former first-round pick in 2020, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers and will now join his third team in as many years.
The trade for Murray comes as the Cowboys look to turn around their defense after the unit struggled in 2024. Dallas gave up the fifth-most total yards per game (355.2) and the fourth-most rushing yards per game (137.1) in the NFL. The Cowboys also allowed the second-most points per game at 27.5 per contest.
Though the offense was nothing to marvel at last year, the defensive struggles led to a rough year for Dallas as it finished 7-10.
While the addition of Murray should help the defensive struggles, the Cowboys still have work to do this offseason.
One task will be re-signing free agent linebacker Erick Kendricks who led the team with 138 tackles last season. Dallas will also have to find a replacement for defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who departed for the Seattle Seahawks in free agency after 11 years with the Cowboys.
Luckily for Dallas, it has another year of Micah Parsons, though the team will have to pay the star soon to avoid losing him in free agency next offseason.
