MLB The Show 25: Paul Skenes, Elly, Henderson Cover, Latest Trailers and Soundtrack

The only thing more exciting to baseball fans than the impending Opening Day is the release of MLB The Show 25, the latest entry in the popular video game franchise.

This year, three of the best young, budding superstars in the sport grace the cover, with Pittsburgh Pirates righty Paul Skenes and a pair of shortstops in Cincinnati's Elly De La Cruz and Baltimore's Gunnar Henderson earning the honors.

Henderson hit 37 home runs and drove in 92 home runs, with a slash line of .281/.364/.529 in what was an AL MVP-worthy season. De La Cruz blasted 25 home runs, added 76 RBI, and swiped 68 bags in a quality followup to his first campaign in the majors.

Skenes delivered an electric rookie season, going 11-3, with a WAR of 5.9, an ERA of 1.96, and a 0.95 WHIP.

All three are expected to be the faces of the game for the foreseeable future and the game's developers, have immortalized them as such with their appearance on this year's game.

"The game has evolved," the game's X account proclaimed alongside the gameplay trailer.

Joining the stars of the future are the legends of the past, with over 200 greats appearing in the 2025 release.

Some of those legendary figures from America's pass time include Ted Williams, Manny Ramirez, Roger Clemens, James Bell, and Jose Bautista.

For those longtime Blue Jays fans wondering, yes, the latter's iconic bat flip is included.

It is one of the deepest rosters in the franchise's history, with Reggie Jackson, Wilbur Rogan, Bobby Abreau, Reggie Sanders, and Gil Hodges also joining the lineup of Hall of Famers and all-time greats.

The Negro League are represented among the legends, with season three of The Storylines, as revealed on social media by Negro League Museum president Bob Kendrick on X.

The game releases for Digital Deluxe Edition on Friday, March 14 while standard edition users can experience all that this year's hotly anticipated game has to offer on Tuesday, March 18.
