Report: Kenny Pickett Traded to Browns; Eagles Get Dorian Thompson-Robinson, More
Kenny Pickett is heading back to the AFC North.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Philadelphia Eagles traded Pickett to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth-round pick and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Pickett was a first-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and spent two seasons with the franchise. He was dealt to the Eagles last offseason and was the backup for the team's run to a Super Bowl.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The Browns are buying low on Pickett's potential and at the very least upgrading the backup quarterback position from Thompson-Robinson and Bailey Zappe.
Pickett saw very limited action in 2024 as he sat behind Jalen Hurts. He appeared in two regular-season games, throwing for 291 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
He saw significant time in the previous two seasons while with the Pittsburgh Steelers and went 7-5 as the starter in each season. He has struggled with turnovers, with a 15-14 touchdown-to-interception ratio in his career.
The Browns went 3-14 in 2024 after an 11-6 campaign in 2023. The quarterbacks struggled, as Deshaun Watson went down with a torn Achilles, Jameis Winston struggled with turnovers and Thompson-Robinson and Zappe were uninspiring.
Pickett may not be a long-term answer, but he could compete with a rookie or hold the fort down while the Browns figure out what to do at the position.
