NFL Rumors: Russell Wilson Eyed by Titans amid Steelers, Giants Buzz in Free Agency
The Tennessee Titans are reportedly considering bringing in a veteran quarterback this offseason.
Per SNY's Connor Hughes, the Titans "are among the teams interested in" free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson. Tennessee's interest comes as the team prepares to select first in the 2025 NFL draft.
Though Wilson is likely past his prime, he had a solid year with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. The 36-year-old threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 games, leading Pittsburgh to the playoffs and earning a Pro Bowl nod.

The Steelers will likely have some interest in re-signing Wilson, who said at the end of the season thatย he hopes to return to Pittsburghย in 2025. The Steelers' interest in Wilson will only increase after Justin Fieldsย signedย with the New York Jets and Sam Darnoldย joinedย the Seattle Seahawks.
The Titans could also be competing with the New York Giants for Wilson, as Hughesย reportedย Sunday that the quarterback is New York's "Plan C." Hughes alsoย reportedย Monday that New York wants Aaron Rodgers, but "most league sources" believe he will sign with the Steelers and the Giants will pivot to Wilson.
Whether it's Wilson or another quarterback, the Titans likely aren't expecting whichever veteran they end up signing to be a long-term option. Armed with the No. 1 overall pick, Tennessee could take a quarterback in the draft and pair that player alongside a veteran in 2025.
Though this year's draft class doesn't have as many exciting quarterback prospects,ย Cam Wardย andย Shedeur Sandersย stand out and will likely be among the first few picks.
Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Departmentย projects the Titans to trade the No. 1 pick to the Giants and take Penn State star edgeย Abdul Carterย at No. 3.
No matter who Tennessee winds up with under center in 2025, it's clear the Titans can't become a playoff team with Will Levis at quarterback. After a decent rookie year, Levis struggled in 2024 with 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 12 games. He also fumbled the ball five times as Tennessee went 3-14.
