Justin Fields, Steelers' Top QB Options Debated By NFL Fans After DK Metcalf Trade
The Pittsburgh Steelers added a star wide receiver on Sunday, trading a second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in return for DK Metcalf.
While Metcalf will certainly make the Steelers better, they still have a few areas to address this offseason, one of which is who their starting quarterback will be in 2025.
After the Metcalf deal, fans debated who Pittsburgh will land this offseason.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Shortly after the Steelers landed Metcalf, NFL Network'sย Ian Rapoportย reported that Pittsburgh "would like to bring back Justin Fields and have been in talks with Justin Fields for some time," but noted that "several teams are going to be interested" in the quarterback.
Fields had a decent first year with the Steelers, collecting 1,106 passing yards and 10 total touchdowns in 10 games. He started the first six games of the season and led Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record.
Of course, the Steelers will likely consider bringing back their other quarterback from the 2024 season. Russell Wilson earned his first Pro Bowl nod since 2021 last year behind his 2,482 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, leading Pittsburgh to a 10-7 finish.
If the Steelers decide to look elsewhere for their next quarterback, Sam Darnold will likely be at the top of their list. Darnold is one of the best quarterbacks on the market after a breakout season with the Minnesota Vikings, which also means he'll have plenty of teams looking to sign him.
Who Pittsburgh will have under center next year remains to be seen, but adding Metcalf alongside George Pickens makes the Steelers one of the more enticing landing spots for free-agent quarterbacks this offseason.
