NFL Rumors: Eagles Open to Dallas Goedert Trade; Eye At Least 4th-Round Draft Pick
The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping for at least a 4th-round draft pick in return for tight end Dallas Goedert, even if the pick is for future years, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson.
A few teams, however, are seeking a lower pick and salary adjustment to continue trade discussions for Goedert, despite his status as a Super Bowl champion, per Anderson.
Goedert finished the Eagles 2024-25 Super Bowl season with 42 receptions, 496 yards–his second lowest total–and two touchdowns, a career low.

Browns Starting QB Timeline ⏰
The 30-year-old was drafted to the Eagles in in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of South Dakota State, but it is looking like the tight ends seven-year career with Philadelphia could be coming to an end.
After the Eagles made big moves to sign several of their key players to contract extensions, Goedert may be the only one left out.
"Dallas Goedert rightfully so wants a new contract, I think that is safe to say no player wants to go into the final year of his deal without a new contract," GoBirds podcast host Eliot Shorr-Parks said. "The Eagles, just paid Saquon Barkley, they paid A.J. Brown, they've paid DeVonta (Smith), they paid Jalen (Hurts), they've paid pretty much everybody and if you include Mekhi Becton it will literally be everybody."
One NFL agent noted that a reason the team may not retain Goedert is due to his age, injury history, and the potential high market value he could command during his unrestricted free agency set for 2026.
"With Dallas Goedert being 30-years-old, it's a strong tight end class, I wonder how committed they are to paying him a contract," Shorr-Parks continued. "So, I think by free agency next week, you'll probably see some resolution by this."
Goedert has not appeared in more than 15 or more games since the 2021 season, and his overall stats have been declining. With a good class of tight ends in the 2025 NFL draft, such as Michigan's Colston Loveland and Penn State's Tyler Warren, the Eagles' 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs could be the last time Goedert is seen in green and black.
"I'm starting to believe Dallas Goedert has played his last game in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform and that is sad," Shorr-Parks said. "It's like (Zach) Ertz, (Brent) Celek and him in terms of great tight ends that they've had."
If the 2025 Super Bowl was Goedert's final time in an Eagles uniform, he went out with a bang, grabbing 27 yards on two receptions to help Philadelphia secure the win.
