Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Seahawks to Discuss Contract with QB amid Sam Darnold Buzz
The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly eyeing a veteran quarterback after trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Seattle is expected to meet with Aaron Rodgers. Russini noted that Rodgers is "free to meet with interested teams" following his exit from the New York Jets.
Though Rodgers is 41 and nearing the end of his career, he ended up putting together a decent season in New York despite the Jets' struggles. He finished the year with 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. New York opted to move on from Rodgers in February, making him a free agent.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Rodgers has garnered interest from a handful of teams, including the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Saturday that Rodgers is "considering the Giants" while the Vikings are "a dark horse."
Something to consider is whether Rodgers would be willing to take on a backup role with whichever team he joins. Minnesota has a quarterback in waiting as J.J. McCarthy prepares to make his debut while the Giants hold the No. 3 pick in the NFL draft and could very well use it to take what they hope will be their franchise quarterback.
One of the most popular free-agent quarterbacks on this year's market is Sam Darnold. Rapoport reported earlier this week that Seattle is "expected to explore" the former Vikings quarterback once he hits free agency this week.
Darnold, 27, threw for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in a breakout year with Minnesota. He's reportedly not expected to return to the Vikings in free agency and is seeking a multi-year deal.
Darnold would be the home-run signing for Seattle this offseason. Still, Rodgers isn't a bad second option, though the Seahawks can't expect Rodgers to be a long-term solution given his age.
