DK Metcalf Trade Rumors: NFL Insider Feels Seahawks 'Want Too Much' for WR
If the Seattle Seahawks want to move DK Metcalf this offseason, they reportedly will have to bring down their asking price.
Per NFL reporter Josina Anderson, a league source said that "right now the Seahawks want too much" for the wide receiver. According to Anderson, the team that commented on Seattle's asking price could "circle back."
According to Dianna Russini, Michael Shawn-Dugar and Chris Licata of The Athletic, the Seahawks are asking for a first-round pick and a third-round pick in return for Metcalf.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
A few years ago, teams likely would have jumped at that asking price, but Metcalf is now 27. He's still a reliable option but had 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2024, significantly less production than what we've seen from him.
Seattle's asking price also might be too much considering Metcalf has just a year left on his contract and is due $18 million in 2025. After that, whichever team trades for him might have to make a significant financial commitment to keep him around.
One thing that might work in the Seahawks' favor is this year's wide receiver market.
Tee Higgins was set to become a free agent and would have been the best option on the market, but the Cincinnati Bengals used their franchise tag on him. Now the top options are players like Davante Adams, Chris Godwin and Stefon Diggs.
Beyond that group, there isn't too much talent available, so teams interested in picking up a WR1 might have to do so through the trade market.
Still, teams may be hesitant to give up a first and third-round pick for Metcalf at this stage in his career, so Seattle might need to change its requirements.
