Cooper Kupp, Stefon Diggs' Top NFL Landing Spots After Christian Kirk Trade to Texans
The Houston Texans added wide receiver Christian Kirk in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
The Jaguars received a 2026 seventh-round pick in return, per Russini.
Kirk recorded just 379 yards with Jacksonville in 2024, but he amassed 1,895 total yards and 11 scores in 29 combined starts from 2022-23.
Houston's acquisition of the 28-year-old keeps Stefon Diggs' future with the team murky. NBC Sports'ย Matthew Berry reported Tuesday that there's a "real" market for Diggs in free agency, with a source saying that his return to the Texans was "50/50."
Diggs isn't the only veteran wideout that could experience a change of scenery, as Cooper Kupp revealed in a social media post on Feb. 3 that the Los Angeles Rams were looking to trade him.
With Kirk reportedly no longer available, here are several teams that could target Kupp and Diggs instead.
Cooper Kupp

While the Rams made a divisional-round playoff appearance during their 2024 campaign, Kupp wasn't as involved in their passing attack compared to past years.
The 31-year-old hauled in 67 receptions for just 710 yards, his lowest total since the 2018 season. Injuries have taken a toll on Kupp, as he's failed to appear in more than 12 regular-season games in each of the past three years.
Kupp has two more seasons left on his contract and is due $20 million in 2025 as well as $19.85 million in 2026 (h/t NFL Network'sย Mike Garafolo).
While his injury history and age may cause some teams to hesitate, a few squads could still pursue the former Pro Bowl wideout.
Dallas Cowboys
Even though Kupp may no longer be a No. 1 receiver, he represents an intriguing fit alongside CeeDee Lamb on the Cowboys. His ability to work out of the slot should make life easier for Dak Prescott as well.
ESPN's Dan Graziano previously listed Dallas as a potential suitor for Kupp "if his price drops far enough."
While Lamb has established himself as one of the NFL's top players at his position, the Cowboys haven't had two receivers reach 800 yards since the 2021 season.
In order to make life easier for Prescott and take some defensive attention off Lamb, Dallas could be in the mix for Kupp.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers made a second consecutive playoff appearance last season, but they'll be looking to make upgrades to an offense that wasn't exactly high-powered.
Pittsburgh owned the sixth-worst passing attack among all teams in 2024.
No Steelers player was able to reach 1,000 receiving yards, while George Pickens was the team's only wide receiver to surpass 600 yards. He finished with 900 yards in 14 games.
If Pittsburgh is looking for a more consistent option next to Pickens, Kupp may be a candidate.
Los Angeles Chargers
When Kupp revealed the Rams' decision to trade him, he wrote that he "always believed" his career was going to "begin and end in LA."
While he was referring to sticking with one organization, he could also end up staying in Los Angeles if the Chargers choose to pursue him.
Like the Steelers, the Chargers are coming off a postseason appearance in 2024. They also boast a talented young receiver, with rookie Ladd McConkey totaling 1,149 yards and seven scores.
Los Angeles also has the financial flexibility to absorb Kupp's remaining deal, owning the second-most cap space in the NFL (via Over the Cap).
With the Chargers continuing to build around Justin Herbert, Kupp could serve as a veteran presence in the locker room and a key contributor on the field.
Stefon Diggs

Diggs' first season on the Texans didn't go how the team likely envisioned when acquiring him in a trade with the Buffalo Bills during the 2024 offseason.
He appeared in just eight games with Houston, recording 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns before suffering a season-ending torn ACL against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
While there's uncertainty surrounding Diggs' impact when he eventually returns, it's still worth noting that he made four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances with the Bills from 2020-23.
Multiple teams should be interested in signing him.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos snapped a nine-year playoff drought in 2024, with rookie quarterback Bo Nix helping lead them to a Wild Card appearance.
Courtland Sutton racked up 1,081 yards and eight scores, but return specialist Marvin Mims finished as Denver's second-leading receiver with 503 yards. Mike Jones of The Athletic reported Thursday that the Broncos "badly want a veteran wide receiver" to pair with Nix moving forward.
Kansas City Chiefs
Coming off a Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs could look to add an experienced option to a wide receiver group that already includes Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy.
Travis Kelce served as Patrick Mahomes' top target once again in 2024, but his production during his 2025 campaign could decrease as he'll be turning 36 years old before the end of the regular season.
If the Chiefs are looking to give Mahomes another weapon on the free-agent market, Diggs is a possible option.
New England Patriots
The Patriots have several roster holes to fill after wrapping up a 4-13 record in 2024 and they'll be attempting to make life easier for quarterback Drake Maye as he enters his second season in the NFL.
Giving him an established wideout such as Diggs would help, as Demario Douglas ranked No. 1 among New England's wide receivers with a mere 621 yards last season.
The Patriots are also able to sign Diggs and still address multiple positions in free agency, as they're armed with the most cap space in the NFL.
