Video: MLB Icon Barry Bonds Says He Could Hit 100 MPH Pitch Today; 'That's Easy'

Barry Bonds is confident he could still hit a 100 mile-per-hour pitch 17 years after his last MLB season.

"Hundred? That's easy," Bonds, 60, said in a Thursday appearance on All the Smoke. "I don't care how hard you throw a baseball. There ain't no way you can throw a baseball 60 feet, six inches that I can't just do like this."

Bonds, who hit his final home run in September 2007, stopped short of saying he would be able to get that hit over the fences.

"Now, if you're asking me to do something spectacular, that would take time for my body to get used to at 60," Bonds said. "But to go up there and hit it? I don't care how hard you throw it. Long as I can see it, I can hit it."

Bonds said his godfather and late MLB icon Willie Mays could hit similar pitches into his 60's when he practiced with Bonds' father, former MLB power hitter Bobby Bonds Sr.

Bonds hit 762 homers over 22 seasons between with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants to set the all-time MLB home-run record between 1986 and 2007. He has served as a Special Advisor to the CEO of the Giants since 2017.
