Daniel Jeremiah: 'Not Much Panic' Around NFL on Will Campbell Arm-Length Measurements
Will Campbell's arm length became quite the topic around the NFL Scouting Combine last week, with his arms measuring at 32 5/8", a bit shorter than what is generally considered preferable for offensive tackles.
But NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah believes that was much ado about nothing.
"There's not as much panic around the league as you might expect when it comes to his arm length due to the discrepancies in measurements between the combine and all-star games/last spring's weigh-ins," he wrote on his Big Board 3.0, where he ranked Campbell No. 9 overall. "He is just scratching the surface of his potential and should start at tackle for a decade, provided he stays healthy."

The LSU prospect wasn't terribly surprised his arms became such a topic of conversation, adding that it hasn't deterred him in the past.
"I think I've shown everything that I need to, you know, show that I can play tackle at an elite level," he told reporters on Saturday. "You can go look at my tape, there's not one play on there that when I get beat you say that's because he has shorter arms. ... Obviously I don't have stereotypical offensive tackle arms. I'm aware of that. People have to nitpick something. I've heard it all my career. When I was coming out of high school, the college coaches all said the same thing. I proved them wrong. It's something I anticipate doing again."
Jeremiah had Campbell as his top-rated offensive lineman overall, though Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou was close behind at No. 11. Campbell's arms likely won't keep him from being a top-10 pick.
