NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the deal is for three years and worth up to $42 million with $18 million guaranteed.
Lawrence had 3.0 sacks and 14 total tackles through four games when he suffered the right foot injury that sidelined him for the rest of the 2024 season.
Canter said in a recent appearance on 105.3 The Fan'sย Shan & RJย (h/tย Audacy) that the defensive end "was healthy towards the end of the year, but it just didn't make sense to come back with the season kind of lost."
Canter added that Lawrence was "100 percent" healthy as of February.
Lawrence has played with the Cowboys since 2014 and served in a full-time starting role since 2017. He departs from Dallas ranked among the top 10 defenders in franchise history with 61.5 career sacks.
The veteran player previously proved he can still be an effective defender into his 30s. He is one season removed from two consecutive Pro Bowl campaigns, during which he played every regular-season game for the Cowboys.
The Seahawks are now betting on Lawrence's ability to bounce back from injury and return to that defensive dominance in his age-33 season.
