Matthew Stafford, Wife Kelly Donate Uniforms to High School Affected by LA Wildfires

Scott PolacekMar 6, 2025

Matthew Stafford is staying in Los Angeles following offseason speculation about his future, and he is doing what he can to help the local community recover from the wildfires that burned around the city in January.

ESPN's Sarah Barshop reported Wednesday that the Los Angeles Rams quarterback and his wife, Kelly, donated new football uniforms to Pasadena High School after the program lost uniforms and equipment during the Eaton Fire.

The Staffords were in attendance at the school's football banquet on Wednesday and revealed they will donate 60 varsity team uniforms and 150 uniforms for five Pasadena Panthers youth football teams.

"It's fun to be a little bit of a part of their team now," Stafford told reporters. "Just happy to be able to do those kinds of things, and it's fun to be around a bunch of young guys that love playing the game and love playing together."

The Los Angeles wildfires forced the Rams to play their home playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings in Glendale, Arizona, in January.

After leading his team to a victory, Stafford told reporters, "We knew we weren't just playing for us. We were playing for people back home who needed something to watch and enjoy."

He provided Pasadena High School students with something else to enjoy Wednesday and will remain in Los Angeles for the 2025 season after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported he and the Rams restructured his contract. Schefter noted the move "quashes any and all trade speculation."

Stafford has played for the Rams the last four seasons and helped lead them to three playoff appearances and a Super Bowl title. The only year they missed the playoffs during his tenure was in 2022 when injuries limited him to nine games.
