Eagles Rumors: Josh Sweat, Milton Williams Expected to Hit FA After Zack Baun Contract
The Philadelphia Eagles secured one of their defensive stars when they signed All-Pro linebacker Zach Baun to a three-year, $51 million deal, but the Super Bowl champions might not be able to bring back two other star free agents.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, "the feeling in league circles" after Baun's deal is that both defensive tackle Milton Williams and linebacker Josh Sweat will hit free agency this offseason.
Sweat and Williams, both career Eagles, had outstanding seasons on the way to a championship.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Sweat tallied 41 tackles, eight sacks, 15 quarterback hits and nine tackles for loss. His sacks total was the second-highest of his career, only behind his Pro Bowl season in 2021 when he had 11 sacks.
Sweat, 27, played the 2024 season on a one-year, $10 million deal. Spotrac gives him a market value of $18.8 million per year.
Williams had 24 tackles, five sacks, 10 quarterback hits and seven tackles for loss. He recorded career highs in sacks and QB hits. Williams played on the final season of his four-year, $5.11 million rookie deal in 2024.
Spotrac projects Williams to earn an average salary of $17.8 million in free agency.
Williams is widely considered to be one of the best defensive tackles on this year's free agency market if not one of the best overall free agents. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox considers the 25-year-old to be the 10th-best overall free agent and the top defensive tackle on the market this offseason.
Sweat is also one of the best free agents both at his position and overall, with Knox ranking him third on the list of free agents.
If the Eagles had it their way, they'd likely prefer to bring back both Sweat and Williams in 2025, but with just $21.946 million in cap space, per Over the Cap, Philadelphia will have to prioritize some players at the expense of others.
