Micah Parsons Rumors: Cowboys Not in Rush for Contract After Maxx Crosby-Raiders Deal
The Dallas Cowboys reportedly have no plans to panic and overreact to Wednesday's Maxx Crosby news when it comes to the contract status of their own star pass-rusher.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Las Vegas Raiders inked Crosby to a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension that features $91.5 million in guarantees. That makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, although it very well could be a temporary title if the Cowboys surpass it with Parsons.
The 2025 campaign will be the final one on Parsons' deal, and he seems next in line for a notable contract extension in Dallas considering quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb each received one before the 2024 season.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Jane Slater of NFL Network reported Wednesday that the Cowboys said they are "not really" in a rush to get a deal done with the Penn State product even after Crosby reset the market.
"Owner Jerry Jones today also made it sound like there was still some work to do there in regards to terms," Slater added.
While Crosby is an excellent player and a foundational cornerstone for the Raiders, Parsons will likely land a bigger contract when he does eventually re-sign with the Cowboys. After all, he will be 26 years old at the start of the 2025 season, while Crosby will be 28.
That his contract will come after Crosby's also makes it more likely it will be larger, as previous deals are typically used as blueprints to build on moving forward when it comes to star players who play the same position.
Parsons is also more versatile as someone who can drop back into coverage and make plays all over the field in addition to his game-changing pass-rushing ability.
The face of the Dallas defense has been in the league for just four years and already has a resume that includes four Pro Bowl selections, a Defensive Rookie of the Year, two First-Team All-Pro nods and four seasons of double-digit sack totals.
He is one of the most dominant defensive players in the league and will surely be paid accordingly down the line, but the Cowboys aren't rushing to get a deal done after the Crosby one even though they run the risk of the blueprint changing if another team signs a pass-rusher to a marquee deal in the meantime.
