NFL Agent: Aaron Rodgers Would Be 'Good' 1-Year Bridge QB For Giants Amid Rumors

While there are questions about whether the New York Giants would be a good fit for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his 21st season in the NFL, it sounds like some are coming around to the idea.

According to ESPN's Turron Davenport and Jeremy Fowler, Rodgers joining the Giants following his release from the New York Jets "has gotten some traction in league circles as a possibility that both team and player would consider," with one veteran NFL agent suggesting that he could be a bridge quarterback to pave the way for a younger signal-caller.

"[Rodgers] could stick it to the [Jets], not have to move from his New Jersey home, and he was known in Green Bay as welcoming rookies and young players with open arms," the agent said. "I think he'd be a good quarterback to be a one-year bridge to a draft pick."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Friday that Rodgers is among the veteran quarterback options that the Giants are considering this offseason. The team also owns the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and could have a shot at landing one of the top quarterback prospects like Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.

There aren't many viable teams remaining for Rodgers as he tries to bounce back from his disappointing 2024 campaign with the Jets, so it could be best for him to consider spending the tail-end of his legendary career as a mentor to a young quarterback.

Joining the Giants could give him that opportunity while serving as an easy transition from the Jets.
