Report: Aaron Rodgers 'Viewed Positively by' Majority of Jets Players Despite Rumors
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly made a largely good impression on his New York Jets teammates despite his turbulent two-year run with the organization.
According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, the 41-year-old "was viewed positively by the majority of the Jets' locker room," even as the team struggled to a 5-12 record last season.
After winning four NFL MVP Awards and one Super Bowl in 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers was traded to the Jets prior to the 2023 season.

The Jets front office hoped the veteran could get them to the playoffs for the first time since 2010, but he suffered a season-ending torn Achilles during New York's first offensive drive of the 2023 campaign.
Rodgers returned in time for the start of the 2024 season and went on to start all 17 games, completing 63.0 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
While his stats weren't bad on the surface, they did not contribute to winning football, and both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas were fired during the season.
The Jets hired Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey as the new head coach and GM, respectively, and they collectively decided to part ways with Rodgers this offseason.
On Monday, Rosenblatt reported there was a belief within the team that Rodgers was "running the offense how he saw fit" last season, which often resulted in him "funneling targets to his closest friend on the team [Davante Adams], which didn't go over well with some of his teammates."
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson may have had the biggest issue with Rodgers' distribution of targets, with Rosenblatt noting Rodgers and Wilson had a "clash of styles."
The four-time NFL MVP could opt to retire this offseason since he has little left to prove, but there seems to be at least some mutual interest between him and the New York Giants.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported last week there was "talk" at the NFL Scouting Combine regarding Rodgers reaching out to the Giants to gauge their interest.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini later reported the Giants were "shifting their interest" to Rodgers after failing to land Matthew Stafford in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams.
Although Rodgers is clearly on the downside of his career, he could be a viable one-year bridge quarterback for the Giants until they find their long-term answer at the position.
While there is often plenty of controversy surrounding Rodgers, Rosenblatt's report suggests he is still well-liked by teammates, and that could be enough for the Giants to be willing to take a chance on him on a one-year deal.
