Shedeur Sanders Falls to No. 29, Browns Trade Up for QB in Zierlein NFL Mock Draft 2.0
Shedeur Sanders could be looking at a major slide at the 2025 NFL draft. Well, at least according to one draft pundit.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein projected that the Colorado quarterback would fall all the way to No. 29, where the Cleveland Browns would end his fall by trading back into the first round to select him.
He also projected Cam Ward to the New York Giants at No. 3. Ward and Sanders were the only quarterbacks taken in his first-round mock.

In a fun twist, Zierlein had the Browns taking dual-threat dynamo Travis Hunter with the No. 2 overall selection, reuniting the Colorado pair in Cleveland.
As for Sanders, it appears he's fallen well out of the QB1 conversation, with Cam Ward the consensus top option at the position to this point. SNY'sย Connor Hughesย even wrote on Sunday that he "talked to scouts, general managers, executives, head coaches, assistant coaches and agentsย at the NFL Scouting Combine. Not one had Sanders as a better quarterback prospect than Ward. The New York Giants really would be on an island of their own if they moved up for the Colorado passer. One general manager actually felt it was Ward, a gap, thenย Quinn Ewers/Jaxson Dart/Jalen Milroe/Sanders, with very little separating the latter four."
Meanwhile, NFL reporter Josina Anderson posted on social media that a "quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top seven referred to Shedeur Sanders as coming off 'brash' and 'arrogant' in his team interview," though she added that it was the "direct opposite from how Sanders came across to many reporters in his press conference with the media at the combine."
Anderson also noted that, "According to league sources, said QB coach seems to have issue with 'the culture' of athletes who have broad fame and financial success before entering the NFL, and in their opinion, appears to have a problem certain athletesโI'll leave it at that."
It's also smoke screen season, so opinions will vary:
It appears that if there is going to be a high-profile player who drops down the board at this year's draftโand there almost always isโit will be Sanders. Still, teams in need of quarterbacks generally are willing to address the position early, so it's highly possible that he ends up a top-10 pick.
