Ramírez, an outfielder like his father, graduated high school in 2024 and was committed to reigning national champion Tennessee, but was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 17th round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He's now playing for the ACL Angels, Los Angeles' Rookie-level affiliate.
Agassi played collegiate baseball for USC with his final season with the Trojans coming in 2023. He's looking to find his way to the majors, and playing in the World Baseball Classic could give him the opportunity to land on a team.
The World Baseball Classic won't take place until next March, but teams are fighting it out in qualifiers to try to earn a coveted spot. While 16 teams already have a spot in the tournament, the remaining four squads will be decided through qualifiers.
