Quinn Ewers: 'Pretty Annoying' There's 'Some Misperceptions' Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft
Following his performance at the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers addressed what Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer described as "some misperceptions" about him.
"We’re human beings at the end of the day, and you see what other people say," Ewers told Breer. "It’s a human’s nature to want to make everybody feel good about us, and who we are as people—we want the situation that we’re in to feel right. For sure, I have a great group of people around me that support me enough, more than enough, and they taught me a lot about not focusing on what everyone else is saying. … Sure, it gets pretty annoying, but at the end of the day I know who I am, and my loved ones know who I am."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Ewers isn't projected to be a first-round pick in next month's NFL draft. In its draft big board, B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranked him as the No. 100 overall player and No. 7 quarterback in this year's class.
However, the longtime Longhorns starter had an impressive showing in the combine that could help improve his draft stock.
During his chat with Breer, Ewers was not short on confidence and made some bold declarations.
"I think I’m the best [in the class] and the most-ready for the NFL because of what I’ve been through," he proclaimed.
Ewers overcame multiple injuries that affected his play during his time at Texas, but he still powered the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024. He believes his resiliency is his greatest trait and will benefit him when he reaches the NFL.
"I just wanted to give them an idea of who I am, because I’m sure they hear a lot of different things about me—and most of it’s hearsay or just not true," Ewers said. "I wanted them to know about the resiliency I show in-game, the mental toughness I have to to go through all that stuff I went through in the three years I was at Texas, and be back-to-back playoff contenders, and in the semifinals, and continue to lead my team …. and continue to be there for my teammates day in and day out. That’s the biggest thing I wanted to come across."
