Video: Dodgers' Dave Roberts Pranks Shohei Ohtani, Fills Star's Car with Plastic Balls
Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani felt the revenge of manager Dave Roberts after Roberts pranked him back by filling his car with plastic balls, escalating their ongoing prank war.
On Friday, the Dodgers shared a video of Ohtani walking to his car, only to find it packed with hundreds of ball-pit balls, which spilled onto the pavement as soon as he opened the door.

In addition to the balls, Ohtani discovered a headshot of Roberts laughing—a clear calling card left at the scene.
“Okay,” Ohtani said while holding in a smile. “Now tied.”
Roberts also left Ohtani a video message to emphasize his payback.
“Alright, Shohei. You got me the first round,” Roberts said. “I told you, you know what they say about payback. So what I have done is -- you see this pretty face right here, that’s me with all these balls. And I put all these balls in your car. So, enjoy it, keep these pictures, and have fun cleaning your car out.”
The prank ended up being a win for Ohtani, as his dog, Decoy, was treated to an unexpected abundance of balls.
Ohtani had previously pranked Roberts by gifting him a Porsche after surpassing his manager for the most home runs by a Japanese-born player in franchise history. However, he conveniently left out what kind of Porsche it was.
“He said he wanted a car,” Ohtani said, per MLB.com's Juan Toribio. “I’m glad he’s happy. He got a car.”
The prank war is surely far from over between the two MLB legends after Ohtani's recent rebuttal.
