Myles Garrett Trade Rumors: Bills Will 'Put in a Bid' for Browns Star Amid Eagles Buzz

Scott PolacekMar 2, 2025

The Buffalo Bills fell short in the AFC playoffs yet again, and part of searching for how to take the next step will reportedly include making a trade offer for Myles Garrett.

Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reported Sunday that Buffalo will "put in a bid" with the Cleveland Browns regarding the pass-rusher who requested a trade this offseason.

Yet that will require Cleveland changing its tune, as general manager Andrew Berry told reporters in January he wouldn't even trade Garrett for multiple first-round draft picks. More recently, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters "I expect" the star defensive end to be back in 2025 because he's "part of the present" and "part of the future" for the organization.

Buffalo may also have plenty of competition in trade talks, as The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Saturday that the Philadelphia Eagles have "real" interest in Garrett.

Philadelphia and Buffalo make sense as potential destinations, as they are contenders in the middle of win-now windows that would surely be willing to mortgage multiple draft picks to land someone who can drastically elevate the ceiling of the defense in the race for a Lombardi Trophy.

Garrett is one of the best defensive players in the league with a resume that includes a Defensive Player of the Year, four First-Team All-Pro nods, six Pro Bowl selections and seven straight seasons of double-digit sack totals.

He posted 14 sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery last season as a bright spot for a 3-14 Browns team that finished in last place in the AFC North.

As for the Bills, they have lost in the AFC playoffs in each of the last six years, including in the conference championship game twice. They haven't figured out the right formula to get past Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs when they match up in the postseason, although adding someone like Garrett could help change the equation.

With him leading the defense and Josh Allen leading the offense, perhaps Buffalo could finally reach the sport's biggest stage and compete in a Super Bowl.
